Establish an ad hoc technical working group
September, 2012
PIF has launched a new task force in order to formulate a new vision of 2020's photonic network. PIF has investigated future research and development issues and developed the roadmap, and summarized these in a report.

Standard Promotion Activities

Workshop(Opinion exchange meeting)
February 20, 2013
　PIF workshop on standardization activity promotion was held on February 20, 2013. The presenters of this workshop were the key contributors of main optical communication standardization societies, such as ITU-T, IEEE, OIF, IETF. Many opinions were discussed about the activities of those organizations, and future directions of these organizations and standardization topics.
