Special Tutorial Lecture for Young Researchers
October 28, 2013
PIF held a special tutorial lecture with exercises. In this lecture, how to take advantage of mathematical programming methods for the design and control of the communication network had been lectured clearly to applications from basic, while exercising to solve actually linear programming solver examples.

2013 Series of Tutorials for Young Researchers
PIF has held tutorials every year to support young researchers and engineers to be the experts of Photonic Network technology since 2002. iPOP 2013, The 9th International Conference on IP + Optical Network
May 30th - 31st, 2013
PIF supported iPOP 2013, the 9th event of iPOP International Conference, which has been sponsored by Photonic Internet Labs (PIL) and ISOCORE since its inception.

In this event, PIF supported
  • promotion of Optical Network technology
  • public experiment of interconnection technology of SDN network
  • promotion of Inter-Cloud technology
  • operation of iPOP webpage for online registration and information
TOPICS: 　Software Defined Network (SDN)
　　　　　　 Inter-Cloud Networking

In conference, participants discussed how SDN can be extended to carrier backbone networks, multi-area networks and multi-layer operation incorporating optical paths. They also talked about Inter-Cloud networking which standardization is progressing well and expected to see business opportunities in the near future.

Lecture on photonic network standardization trend
November 27, 2013
PIF held "lectures on photonic network standardization trend" Planning Committee and Standardization Promotion Committee work together.
In these lectures, for each optical link technology, optical access technology, and optical networking technology, was explained clearly about the direction and future activities to date of the standardization organizations.
