The OECC/PSC 2019(24th OptoElectronics and Communications Conference/ International Conference on Photonics in Switching and Computing 2019) was held from July 7th to 11th 2019 at Fukuoka International Congress Center, Fukuoka, Japan.

The PIF supported the conferences, and the PIF Standard Promotion Committee cooperated in the Workshop held at July 7th by planning an invited lecture and furthermore exhibited its activities.

The PIF Standard Promotion Committee cooperated in the invited lecture with IEICE Technical Committee on Photonic Network on June 20, 2019 at MALIOS, Morioka, Iwate.

"Automotive optical Ethernet in the age of autonomous driving
-the latest developments and standardization trend-"

In the lecture, the lecturer introduced the latest technologies and trends in standards such as a communication protocol called in-vehicle Ethernet that has greatly enhanced real-time performance and redundancy, high-speed communication standards of 50 Gb / s discussed at the IEEE 802.3 committee.

In addition, the in-vehicle optical communication system simulator that have been constructed by the lecturer et al. was introduced.

The PIF held the Annual General Meeting, and subsequently held the Annual Lectures/Exhibitions on June 7, 2019 at Hotel Le Port Kojimachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

In the lectures, 3 invited lectures shown in the following program were given intelligibly and it became the valuable opportunity to comprehend the Optical Lattice Clocks, the state-of- the-art research and development on 5G in Korea, and Global Datacenter Business in NTT Communications.

In the exhibitions held at the same time, the members of PIF (4 organizations) introduced and exhibited the advanced technologies related to the photonic networks.

It became very meaningful and valuable lectures/exhibitions for the participants more than 70 including the university students and general participants.

The 15th International Conference on IP + Optical Network (iPOP2019) was held during May 30-31, 2019 at NEC Tamagawa Plant, Kawasaki, Japan.

The PIF supported the conference by the dispatch of the officer, the cooperation to management of TPC, the participation in the interoperability demonstration, the operation of the online registration website.

In addition to these cooperation, the PIF Standard Promotion Committee which surveys the trends and the key features of latest standardization activities on the photonic networks introduced and exhibited its activities by using the poster, the leaflets and the PC slide show.
