The PIF Annual Meeting was held at June 19th 2015 at Hotel LePort Kojimachi,Tokyo, Japan.

In the lecture, the guest speakers invited from United States/Korea gave lectures on the trends about the information and communication or future directionality. Further an expert invited from Japan gave a lecture on the net neutrality.

In the exhibition held at the same time, the member of PIF (6 organizations) introduced and exhibited the advanced technologies related to the photonic networks.

It became the very prosperous meeting by the participant more than 70 including the student and general participant.

The PIF held "advanced technology lecture & latest inspection site tour" under the cosponsorship with TOYO Corporation on August 27th 2015.

This time, we visited TOYO Corporation and held lectures about 5G mobile/NFV (Network Functions Virtualization), furthermore observed the inspection site for mobile radio terminal and the high-speed network connection apparatuses.

The participant more than 70 could acquire the valuable latest information and could observe in detail the latest inspection facilities of the expert company of the measurement. We have successfully closed this significant event in the prosperity.

PIF has held tutorials every year to support young researchers and engineers to be the experts of Photonic Network technology since 2002.
　As cosponsor, PIF and Technical Committee on Photonic Network (The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers) held following tutorials this year.

The 11th International Conference on IP + Optical Network (iPOP2015) was held during April 20th - 22th 2015 at Okinawa Jichikaikan, Naha Okinawa, Japan.

The PIF supported the meeting and carried out the national-scale multi-carrier SDN dynamic demonstration that intended the application to the Carrier networks led by PIF member for the first time in the world. In addition, the PIF carried out secretariat support such as establishment, the administration of the online registration site of the meeting.

This year also, the PIF Standard Promotion Committee which surveys the trends and the key features of latest standardization activities on the photonic networks exhibited the activities by the poster, leaflets and presentation.

The Technical Research Committee of PIF held "The lectures for technical research" on October 30th 2015.

This lecture was held as an opportunity to share the directionality of the technique that we should open up for the future while being based on past research result "Photonic Network Vision 2020".

At this lecture, three experts gave lectures about next items:

1) Photonic network R&D at NICT
2) 5G mobile communication technology
3) Coherent photonic communication technology

As for this lecture, participant limited to the member of PIF acquired the information not to usually get, and active information interchange was performed by questions and answers.
